Video: Israeli military shooting directly at press in Kufr Qaddoum

On Friday the 30th of March the weekly demonstration was held in the village Kufr Qaddoum outside of Nablus. This day was however the same day as the Global March to Jerusalem, meaning less media attention than normal, and also less internationals present as most of the activists attended the demonstrations in Qalandiya, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem. Breaking: 2 international activists assaulted by extreme settlers in Al Khalil

Two international activists were assaulted late this morning by extreme Zionist settlers in Al Khalil (Hebron). A female activist was assaulted by a male settler, after being punched in the face and having her camera stolen by this male settler.

Today’s attack comes following weeks of warning and aggression towards photojournalists and activists with cameras by Israeli military and police, which have stated to internationals that Israeli law forbids the photography of their operations, or rather, their breach of international law and human rights.

Israeli troops take aim at photojournalists covering protests in West Bank

Reporters Without Borders strongly condemns the violence used by Israeli forces against Palestinian, Israeli and foreign photojournalists covering demonstrations against Israel’s West Bank separation barrier and the continuing colonisation of Palestinian territory.

The press freedom organization deplores the total impunity enjoyed by the soldiers responsible for these abuses.

On 10 February, two Palestinian journalists were injured by tear gas grenades and rubber bullets fired by Israeli soldiers as they were covering a weekly protest in the village of Nabi Saleh against the barrier and encroachment on their land.
