The Jewish National Fund has designated Sunday 5th February as ‘Green Sunday’, when it encourages people to donate money to ‘plant trees in Israel’.  The JNF claims to have environmental objectives.  Don’t be taken in.  The JNF’s tree planting is a cover for ethnic cleansing.

Today in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood of Silwan, the Sumarin family awaited a ruling from Israeli court on the pending eviction from their home.

Israeli news reported this week that the current eviction set for this week had been delayed. But according to the family, their attorney had not yet received an official ruling. Until today.

After uprooting thousands of olive trees, Israel’s latest plantation may pose a fire risk to its own citizens.

They come from across the planet and meet in the shadow of Israel’s 12m concrete wall. They strap olive saplings and water bottles to the back of a donkey, silent under its burden. Gaza Freedom Marchers issue the ‘Cairo Declaration’ to end Israeli Apartheid

Gaza Freedom Marchers approved today a declaration aimed at accelerating the global campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israeli Apartheid.
Roughly 1400 activists from 43 countries converged in Cairo on their way to Gaza to join with Palestinians marching to break Israel’s illegal siege. They were prevented from entering Gaza by the Egyptian authorities.
