Settlers set fire to farmland in Burin.

On Thursday 30 June at 11:00 AM, the villagers of Burin reported that a fire was started by a group of settlers in one of the village´s crop field in the hills.

According to a villager who witnessed the events, Walid M. N. noted that before the fire began to burn, approximately 50 settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar, including some children, were seen atop the hill which is just situated  in the southwest portion of the village.

15 year old injured after attack with stones in Hebron

On Sunday June 25, 15 year old Muhammed Jabari was attacked by settlers throwing stones in Hebron, causing injuries to his wrist and leg.

The land and house of the Jabari family is situated between the illegal settlements of Kiryat Arba and Givat Ha’avot in east Hebron, making the family exposed to harassment and attacks by settlers as reported previously. Cycling for Freedom of Movement

70 cyclists from Hebron and surrounding areas, as well as 15 international cyclists, pedaled through Hebron on Tuesday in an attempt to challenge restrictions imposed on the freedom of movement. The group set off from near the centre of the city and cycled in unison through the streets of Hebron, waving Palestinians flags. Bikes were decorated with signs saying “We have the right to move”, “The wheels of change are in motion”, and “Bikes against borders” in English and Arabic.

Palestinian man still under arrest after demonstration in Beit Ommar on Saturday

Two international activists are released following their arrest and court hearing in Jerusalem, while a Palestinian man is still under custody following a peaceful demonstration in Beit Ommar that occurred on June 25th.

The two international activists and a 22 year old Palestinian were brutally arrested during a peaceful demonstration in Beit Ommar, in the southern region of the West Bank. The non-violent demonstration took place  there  and was nearing its end when approximately ten Israeli soldiers and border police arrested the 22 year old Palestinian man with force. Join demonstration in Kufr Qaddoum, July 1st

On Tuesday June 28, ISM visited the village of Kufr Qaddoum in northern Nablus following a call for action after 6 years of no active demonstrations.

Abdul Ra’ouf Hamsa, representative of the local council, and his assistant, Saqer Obwed, explained to ISM the main problem faced by the villagers. Since 2003 the closest way to access  Nablus is a road that was closed first by the settlers and then by the army without any reason or warning. Every Tuesday morning there is a demonstration against the Occupation in Beit Hanoun, when people march into the buffer zone, demand an end to the occupation, and are met with more bullets from the occupation.  Today was different and yet the same; today we didn’t go into the buffer zone, but none the less we were still met with the bullets of the occupation.

Today we had a great international press conference. There were representatives from Greece, Sweden, France, Norway, Canada, Spain, Turkey and of course, the U.S. The room was packed with press and passengers; there was really a feeling that we are part of something historic.

Our US speakers were Ann Wright and Alice Walker, as well as Huwaida Araf, who was not representing the U.S. boat but the international flotilla.

Gaza flotilla activists: One of our ships was sabotaged

One of the ships due to participate in the Gaza flotilla was deliberately tampered with while it was docked in Greece’s Piraeus port, Gaza flotilla activists told Haaretz on Monday.

The ship, due to carry Greek, Norwegian, and Swedish passengers to Gaza, was found with its propeller shaft broken, the ship’s spokesman Israeli activist Dror Feiler told Haaretz.

A scuba diver who examines the ship on a daily basis discovered Monday that the ship’s propeller shaft, which connects the transmission inside the vessel directly to the propeller, was cut off.

Israel dismantles section of the Separation Wall in Bil’in

Israeli occupation forces started Sunday dismantling a section of the Separation Wall near the village of Bil’in in the northwest of Ramallah in accordance to the decision issued by Israeli supreme court about four years ago.

Witnesses told local sources that Israeli soldiers fired tear gases and rubber bullets at hundreds of Palestinian citizens who gathered to celebrate these historical moments-the dismantling of the wall-leaving several suffocation cases.

Today local and international activists joined families affected by last week’s demolitions in the Palestinian community of Fasayel in the occupied Jordan Valley as they planted 300 olive trees on their land. At around 5pm a group of 25 Palestinian and international activists joined 10 families whose homes were destroyed last week by the Israeli military (see article and video).
